AMERICAN DREAMS (TV show) |
I fall in love with this show a little more every week. What I'm wondering now though is if Sam Walker and Meg Pryor will be like a new Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. There is a definite romantic undercurrent to their storyline and I'm wondering if the show's writers will bring them together in an interracial relationship or simply draw out the romantic tension between the two for the life of the show like they did on "The X-Files". It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

2. Normally, movies and TV shows that... |
...rely on a soundtrack full of popular music really bother me but "American Dreams" handles the soundtrack very well. Their use of music really complements the emotional component of the show very well.

Dick Clark moved "American Bandstand" to Los Angeles in the Summer of 1963, and changed to a Saturday-only schedule. Last night's episode took place in either 1965 or 1966 (judging by the music in the background), long after the show left Philadelphia.

6. Yeah, you mentioned this last week. |
We are aware of it. It doesn't bother me though because "American Bandstand" is such a minor part of the show these days.

11. Well, It Bothers Me.... |
...when they take artistic license like that.
It reminds me of "Sweet Dreams", the movie about Patsy Cline. One scene showed Patsy and her husband dancing in a parking lot to "Stranger On The Shore". Than scene was supposed to take place in 1959 - "Stranger On The Shore" wasn't released until the summer of 1963 - after Patsy Cline was killed in a plane crash.

3. I started getting into the show recently as well |
but I don't think they will go that route (I wish they would) because it's a sensitive subject still for middle america. I'm mad that Sam is going to change his relationship with Meg because the other has a problem with it.

5. I don't think the change... |
...in their relationship will last long. Sam and Meg have had conflicts in the past and they always work it out and drift back together. I actually do think that the show is going to bring these two together eventually, I just think they are going to take their sweet time doing it. I don't think it's going to be a "happily ever after" kind of thing but the writers have been hinting at a relationship between these two for some time now.

10. JJ being MIA is exactly the kind of thing... |
...that will bring Meg and Sam together again despite the interference of Sam's new girlfriend.
