I have a question for iPod owners |
|
I'm thinking of getting one. I've got a ton of of music on my hard drive. Some whole albums and a lot of folders of misc. music (samplers of various artists.) Can I plug in an iPod and transfer all the folders? Will the folders stay in tact?
I noticed that on my computer here at work, when I go into the iTunes folder they Am I making any sense?

the ipod has its own hidden filing system for music.
the ipod automatically sorts by artist, album, genre etc... but it uses the id3 tags to do it. if your songs have the id3 tags correct especially song name, artist, album, track # you will be good.
you can also make your own playlists but it wont take your folder hierarchy and its not quite the same.

4. The hassle of taking the time to properly tag your mp3s |

is totally worth it. I have had my ipod for about 18 months and not a single day has gone by that I havent used it. Seriously. For me anyways it was a lifestyle changing device and re-opened the world of music. I absolutely love it.
