COMPUTER HELP! Need To Transfer Brochure Graphics Into PDF |
|
I designed a brochure for my family's small business on a program called Printshop and it only saves files in a format called PDP...
Not being computer literate (or barely literate) I don't know if there's a way to convert the brochure in its existing program into PDF so that Kinko's can read the file.
Is there some way to convert the Printshop file (by Broderbund) into a useable PDF?
I am ready to cry cause it seems like all the hard work already done on designing the brochure will have to replicated in another (Windows) program.

1. I don't have Windows, but can you |
|
print it? If so, can you print it to a file? Generally, if you can, it is printed as postscript, the postscript file can then be converted to portable document format.

Will call my ISP technical support and see if they are willing to interpret what you have suggested.
Thanks!

7. Inside the printshop program |
|
go to the Print option, and see if it allows you to print to a file instead of the printer -- better yet, see if it allows you to print to a PDF file. Generally, if you print to a file instead of to the printer, it is saved as a .ps (postscript) file, which is easy to convert to .pdf (portable document format).
Another possibility: is there any sort of "Export" function in any of your menus, where you can Export to PDF?

Do a search for "pdp pdf" at download.com to find programs, many free or shareware.
Or, go to adobe.com and use the online pdf conversion service. I don't know how much it costs.

3. There are several products that let you print to a PDF file |
|
I belive Acrobat will do this, but you can google "print to PDF file" for some alternatives.

A free office suite, tons of fun programs, the word processor exports to PDF.

6. THANK YOU! Now I Am Determined To Try Again!!! |
|
still it seems so stupid to publish a program and NOT have an option for saving files in PDF when that's what is common.

Edit: disregard, that was the Photoshop http://filext.com/detaillist.php?extdetail=PDPTry loading it in acrobat reader and seeing what happens ... maybe even just renaming the .pdp extension to .pdf
