17. I just missed getting Droughns from FA by 2 minutes
Ended up getting Mewelde Moore who has played well. But Droughns definately would've helped me out at a position I'm weak at.
Duece has been solid but it's The Bus who gets in the endzone, Q. Griffin flamed out, Michael Bennett hasn't played at all. I had to start William Green yesturday.

18. yeah, I feel you
It's a good thing I played the worst team in the league, my running game, so far, has been awful (hell, my entire offensive production is awful, save Brett Favre and Joe Horn. who knew I should have benched Edge James and played Lee Suggs? well, I'll take the W and move to 5-2, one game and 100 points out of first, with a head to head matchup with the leader left to go. I've done th hard part of my schedule, I have only one game left against a team with a winning record.

6. Us New Englanders are trying to be gracious fans.
We wouldn't want to turn into obnoxious Yankee fans. So we temper our celebration of each Patriots victory.

22. The Dolphins win was the most predictable result of the weekend
Absolutely horrible scheduling scenario for the Rams; a non-conference road game following a conference home win on Monday night. The news media does a pathetic job in emphasizing scheduling situations and how they effect performance, especially in the NFL and NBA. I've wagered on sports for 20 years, and the Monday night home to road non/conference or non-division is a virtual forfeit for that team, tons of outright upsets in favor of the home underdog. It's not quite as bad since the league went to 4 team divisions, but still an ugly scenario.

My sports betting friends and I in Las Vegas were salivating in anticipation of the Dolphin/Ram game all week. I was too much of a wimp in betting the game, only a standard size bet, as a Dolphin fan who was worried about Miami's lack of offense. Most of my sharp friends made their largest wager of the season on Miami, plus the points and to win the game outright. Admittedly, it's didn't hurt we knew the team in the bad scheduling spot, the Rams, is a schizo and lazy ass team that would undoubtedly take the Dolphins lightly.

16. Eagles fan here!
We won in OT. 6 and 0!!!

WOW! Our defense was a little Swiss cheesey, but held on when it counted.

Akers in OT, kicked the winning FG.

All-in-all, an aggravating game (despite McNabb's stats), but a win is a win. And they say good teams win ugly.

23. that's because football sucks . . .
just ask George Carlin . . . :)

Baseball is a nineteenth-century pastoral game.
Football is a twentieth-century technological struggle.

Baseball is played on a diamond, in a park. The baseball park!
Football is played on a gridiron, in a stadium, sometimes called Soldier Field or War Memorial Stadium.

Baseball begins in the spring, the season of new life.
Football begins in the fall, when everything's dying.

In football you wear a helmet.
In baseball you wear a cap.

Football is concerned with downs - what down is it?
Baseball is concerned with ups - who's up?

In football you receive a penalty.
In baseball you make an error.

In football the specialist comes in to kick.
In baseball the specialist comes in to relieve somebody.

Football has hitting, clipping, spearing, piling on, personal fouls, late hitting and unnecessary roughness.
Baseball has the sacrifice.

Football is played in any kind of weather: rain, snow, sleet, hail, fog...
In baseball, if it rains, we don't go out to play.

Baseball has the seventh inning stretch.
Football has the two minute warning.

Baseball has no time limit: we don't know when it's gonna end - might have extra innings.
Football is rigidly timed, and it will end even if we've got to go to sudden death.

In baseball, during the game, in the stands, there's kind of a picnic feeling; emotions may run high or low, but there's not too much unpleasantness.
In football, during the game in the stands, you can be sure that at least twenty-seven times you're capable of taking the life of a fellow human being.

And finally, the objectives of the two games are completely different:

In football the object is for the quarterback, also known as the field general, to be on target with his aerial assault, riddling the defense by hitting his receivers with deadly accuracy in spite of the blitz, even if he has to use shotgun. With short bullet passes and long bombs, he marches his troops into enemy territory, balancing this aerial assault with a sustained ground attack that punches holes in the forward wall of the enemy's defensive line.

In baseball the object is to go home! And to be safe! - I hope I'll be safe at home!
