Jesus and Mary Chain reincarnated! |
|
I swear, the new Black Rebel Motorcycle Club record is STELLAR (better than their first), even if they are (still) a dead rip-off of JAMC in their prime. Which, in case you are unawares, was nothing short of FUCKING great. :)
BRMC - "Take Them On, On Your Own"
Do yourself a favour, you'll thank me later. ;)

That would have no choice but to be awesome! A friend of mine in Glasgow just saw Spiritualised last night in a tiny 250 person venue. I'm so jealous I could spit. :(

4. BRMC kick serious ass!!! |
|
I'm 46 and I love 'em... The Jesus and Mary Chain analogy is very good! But they're probably better musicians than JMC...

Do they write well? I mean, lyrically I can't say the Reid bros were poets, but it all synched together well. Can you say the same about BRMC? Must be, if you make that comparison and someone else sez Love and Rockets - might have to look them up.

I have been a fan since their beginning. Their first cd is Jesus and Mary Chain to the core, but if they are going to sound like a band, Jesus and Mary Chain would be one to choose. In fact I originally bought BRMC's first cd because of the Jesus and Mary Chain comparison since I had listened to them since the 80's. I like the new cd, sound is more polished and they sound less like Jesus and Mary Chain and more their own.

I've had other people tell me they thought that as well, maybe it's just me. Not to say that this one isn't a definite cut above, I still only hear JAMC when I listen to it. Perhaps just wishful thinking. ;)

9. I am a huge Love and Rockets fan...... |

And I haven't even thought of them while listening to BRMC, maybe I'm missing something. I will listen a little closer next time I have BRMC on.

Although I can't profess to be a *huge* Rockets fan, I've certainly heard enough to know what they sound like. I can maybe hear it a bit but the JAMC drowns it out. ;)

I remember the first time I heard the J&MC single "Upside Down" on Radio One. My father had to stop the car, I think he thought he had engine trouble!
That single still sounds pretty extreme even today. No hope of it ever becoming a "golden oldie" heheheh
