5. Ashlee, please go away.
I don't care what caused the little "incident" that people seem to be talking about. I just want you to go away and stop making my life even worse with your pathetic, Disneyesque pre-packaged rocker-girl pop crap. You'd be nowhere if it wasn't for your equally sub-talented sister who benefitted from riding the tweener bubble-gum princess wave and seemed to have hit the jackpot when it comes to publicists.

6. Here's an idea.....maybe don't record an album....and don't..
produce a reality show about the recording that album, and don't have her perform until she's fucking good and ready.

The fact that someone who had never before performed live before getting a recording contract and television show was ever hoisted on the american public is pathetic. Even the goobers on American Idol had been slugging it out in their own ways before hitting the big time rather than just being handed it because they had a famous sister and pushy father.

9. And here I figured it was utter lack of talent
sigh.....

Back in the day of real performers, they didn't feel the need to back up with tapes and if they had an offnight, which they occaisonally did, they accepted it. And the fans accepted it.

I'd rather take the risk of a truly live performance, and take the risk of a bad performance, because it also means that there is the possibility of a truly amazing performance a few times on any tour.

Using tapes, there will never be a bad performance, there will never be an amazing performance. Every show will be the same, a normalized 50-percentile concert.

12. As much as I hate to defend annoying teenyboppers...
Edited on Mon Oct-25-04 05:56 PM by joshuasmommy
I have a condition that mimics asthma, called vocal chord dysfunction. The worst symptom is that it causes breathing problems. BUT I used to sing professionally and it has at least for a time ruined my voice. When it's not acting up, I'm fine, but when it is, my voice is gravelly and I lose about 30-50% of my vocal range. One of the worst contributors to VCD is reflux. If anyone is curious, if you do a search for VCD or vocal chord dysfunction, the info's out there. There's some discussion about it on this site: http://www.gbmc.org/voice/forum.cfm?StartPage=3

She may very well have no talent whatsoever. But because I suffer from a similar problem, I am inclined to believe this until it's proven otherwise.

I'm not trying to be antagonistic, but I thought mentioning this was the right thing.

13. forgot...
I do think it was pretty crappy when she blamed her band, though. That was a cop out that can't be explained. A simple apology would have sufficed if she felt the need to say something about it.

15. good point
i don't care about her using a support=system or back-up, i imagine most performers do to some extent. she apparently was synching herself.

i don't care that she's riding coat-tails; many performers got a break because they had a hook & talent.

i don't even care if she's a bubble-gummer; lots of performers started that way & grew.

as you point out in your next post, she shd have had the grace to take the heat rather than scape-goating the band. it loox like some1 bought her a career she shdnt/wdnt have had w/o the connexions.

25. Not to belittle your condition
But Asslee's only medical condition is lack of talent (not her fault, it's a genetic thing). Fact is, bitch can't sing. Anyone who's ever seen her famewhoring reality show on MTV, when they showed her recording her album, knows this (I watch it 'cause it's a train wreck). It's painfully obvious. She sucks. Even worse than her sister. Were it not for ProTools and her famewhoring parents' pimping she'd be flipping burgers at White Castle.

35. I don't feel belittled by it
It is a very uncomfortable (and potentially dangerous, due to the breathing problems) condition. And I don't know that she has it or doesn't. I'm just giving her the benefit of the doubt based on the fact that the condition claimed is similar to what I do have. Just wanted to be fair, but I don't know anything about her, really.

27. I'm willing to bet your dad didn't pimp you though
As much as I can't stand Asslee, Jessucka and the whole Simpson machine it's Pa Simp who's the real villain in all this. He shamelessly pimps his daughters. Hell he has purposely marketed Jess as the Stupidest Woman Alive and doesn't give a shit, as long as the money keeps rolling in.

Famewhoring stage parents who use live vicariously through their kids and use them as meal tickets are disgusting. The real tragedy is that for every pimped out kid who does attain fame and fortune there are thousands more who end up in the gutter.

22. Yeah, well it's not even ABOUT the lipsyncing.
Everyone does it these days...that's pretty much expected.

It's the fact that she's blaming it on the BAND that's the problem. Very Bush-esque, I might say.

23. Ya'll got it wrong....
It's not that she's blaming it on the band. The article says that the drummer pushed the wrong button. In any case, it wasn't her fault that the wrong song started playing.

What is wrong is that we are accepting Memorex over the real thing. Eff that! We should take this opportunity to remind the industry of Mili Vanilli. What happened when they got caught was that the industry changed. For a brief time, yes. But for like five minutes bullshit was not in vogue.

If I want to hear the cd I can put it in my cd player myself. If I go to a concert and they put in a cd, I'm gonna want my damn money back.

Bring back talent. Put the high school kids in the garage where they belong (there's no substitute for practice), not in front of thousands of paying customers.

Dems do not support mediocrity. Pugs support mediocrity (Bush).

played the wrong song. There's no excuse for that?"

It's the lipsync that went wrong. It's the song that went wrong. It's the lack of talent that went wrong. It's the free-pass-into-show-biz-cause-my-daddy's-a-friend-of-the-prez that went wrong.

The band played just fine....and LIVE too! Imagine that.

But it was very declasse of her to blame the band.

All she had to do was say she had some hoarseness, and wanted to preserve her voice for Monday.
