Who here has seen Van Helsing?
Okay...not the best movie but some good special effects...

My greatest disappointment was the fact that Hugh Jackman had too much clothing on for most of the movie...

Biggest problem with the movie...the "over the top acting" for most of it...In fact halfway through the movie I figured out the monk sidekick was the guy who played Faramir in LOTR...and that was a bit unsettling for me...don't know why but it was..

1. I wouldn't rate it a thumb up (or down). Maybe a finger....
The scenery was good, and the graphics were so-so. But the acting was *crap*

Speaking of crap, hasn't anyone in Hollywood heard of PLOT? And why do they f*ck up the stories of Baron Van Helsing and Vlad Dracula so much?

2. A Plot would require an attention span...and that doesn't seem
to be an asset in Hollywood or anywhere in the media...

I am not so sure why Vlad Dracula and Van Helsing are so appealing...personally I think I could write some good scripts and just rip off stories from other far more exciting historical events...kind of like Shakespeare...

3. The FX were awesome but what I didn't like about
the movie is that there was very little character development. As I watched the movie, I really didn't care what happened to any of the characters.

Well, Hugh Jackman is hot.

4. It was clear they thought there would be a sequel cuz there was no
explanation of what Van Helsing's origins were and how old he was...it was really poorly developed...but I did like the FX and Hugh!

7. Here's your explination (SPOILER)
Van Helsing is the "left hand of Gd" and is therefore immortal. This is how he remembers a war fought in 73 AD.

In the original story of Van Helsing, he is the Baron Van Helsing and winds up killing Vald Dracul (Count Dracula)

6. Last time I saw that bastard, I think Jonathan Harker had driven
a stake through his heart.

You mean he is back?
