Does anybody in the Northeast have earthquake insurance? |
|
Just looking at my homeowner's renewal which includes a notice that any damage from an earthquake is not covered under my policy. An endorsement is available for an additional fee.
Might need for next week when the Kerry landslide hits!

2. Why? Not too many earthquakes up here... |
|
... and so our insurance doesn't see a necessity to cover.
Unlike when I lived in CA and they were more than happy to add $$$ to cover for an earthquake.
We did have an earthquake here in VT a couple of years ago. It was very different from those in CA. I heard it about the same time I felt it. It was really funny. But not a big deal. Not much damage.
More damage from frost. My favorite sign since moving to Vermont: Frost Heave.
Yeah, I make barfing noises... I'm silly, okay.
But, no earthquake insurance.
