The nastiest people I've met down here were Republicans from Massachusetts. She hated Democrats and thought they were stupid. In the two years I knew her, she said it often. Because our kids were involved in sports together, I spent the better part of two years staying quiet and listening to her griping.
She definitely came from poor stock, and she worked her way out of a large family. They moved down to Florida where they at once became "power couples" exercising and dressing for success. (He even took to dying his hair to look young and keep his job, but he was fired anyways.) The hubby and her put the kids in private school as soon as it became apparent that their children were "not getting along" with the public school kids. The girl had an air of superiority and was incredibly mean-spirited. Having to belittle others to maintain a good feeling about herself.
Nobody misses them.

14. Maybe he just wants to join Republicans for Kerry |
|
I actually have an acquaintance who did just that - registered as a Republican even though he's mostly always voted Democratic - so he can join Republicans for Kerry. He's the state head of Veterans for Kerry, too. :D
