I wanna go to Australia now more than ever.
Edited on Tue Oct-26-04 09:41 PM by northwest
I was looking at the weather in Australia this morning, and it seems to be absolutely beautiful. Then I started going to travel sites for Sydney, Perth, Darwin and Alice Springs, and these places look absolutely gorgeous. I REALLY wanna go to the Outback. I also wanna drive a convertible on the desolate Nullarbor Highway that goes across the Southern desert between Adelaide and Perth. I wanna see Sydney and Melbourne, and I wanna see Ayers Rock. But most of all, I wanna see the coastal cities of Darwin and Broome.

Maybe I can go on a trip this January when it's -30 up here in NoDak. Unfortunately I don't have several thousand dollars.

2. Was there for 3 weeks in August/September
Great place Oz! It is beautiful and they seem to love Americans. I was in Melbourne working there for a while -- Melbourne is on the south eastern tip of the continent. Its the second largest city with 4.5 million people. Would love to go back.

If you go make sure you fly Qantas. One thing I learned from the Aussies I met is there is very little to see in the Outback. They recommended going to Sydney, Brisbane, and Queensland, and then going to see the Great Barrier Reef. :-)

Thats what I'm planning for my next trip back.

Cheers Mate!

3. "very little to see in the Outback"
I have never been there but every single thing I have ever seen on Australia shows the outback looking like some parts of Nevada or far SE California. You know, a desert.
