Before Madonna, before Cher, there was....Annette! Happy Birthday!
Yes, even she was only known and credited in movies by her first name during the height of her fame!

Happy Birthday! She turned 62 on Friday (so, I'm late, so sue me).

3. Haven't seen or heard about her in a while...saw her tv movie about
her life a few years back. She was narrating it, while an actress was playing her. She had difficulty speaking, but was able to stand up a walk a bit, poor thing!

5. Not finding much on her current condition.
I also hope she's doing well.

Here's a page from two years ago, when she was MS Walk Ambassador:

4. I didn't! Of course, you know that I just meant that she was so damn
well-known that she needed only her first name and EVERYONE knew who you were talking about!

11. That's also news to me. I'm usually up on the gay icon stuff.
I haven't got this month's newsletter yet. That must be the problem. :-)

12. Well, I saw Cher and Madonna in the subject line.
Come on, Terry. It's not like Judy or Liza really need last names, either. ;)

13. When I saw Annette, I thought it was Annette Bening.
Al, she's a terrific actress and all...but NOT the stuff of gay iconhood. :-)

15. Nope. And no substance abuse problems, no plastic surgery...
Poor Mrs. Beatty might as well not even try. :-(

8. Last I heard she could no longer
speak. Don't know if that was temporary or not. The illness (MS) is really a shame. Some people can live with it and hardly feel any effects. Others, like Annette get hit hard and quickly. Its still such a mysterious disease.
