What the hell is going on with Nebraska's football team? Is the new coach an idiot or what? I want Solich back. At least he was making changes to improve recruiting, etc. This new guy is trying to re-invent Nebraska football.

1. Not a Husker but hate what has happened to the program

Nebraska had one of the truly great programs in college football. They also have what are probably the most devoted fans too. They deserve better than this. The 70-10 blowout to Texas Tech was embarrassing. A loss at home to Southern Mississippi. A 24 point loss to a 2-4 Kansas State team. Barely beating Kansas. This is not Nebraska football. The dominance of the 90s seems a distant memory right now.

New coach = idiot.
Solich = lesser idiot.

They're at a major turning point. Either go back to what made you great, or try to out-recruit USC and Florida State. I can tell you what WON'T work, though.

5. I agree. Solich was not the greatest but at least he acknowledged

that changes had to be made. He hired a great defensive coordinator and replaced himself as offensive coordinator so he could spend more time recruiting and other stuff. My sense is that the athletic director should have given Solich another year at least.

The worst thing about Nebraska's fall from grace is that now that I live in Kentucky, I will never see another NU game unless they are playing a top team.

6. Nope, but I lived my first 15 years in Omaha.

It kind of made me overdosed on football, but I have kid that plays flag football now, so I'm trying to warm up. I lived there in the 70's and 80's during Tom Osborne's heyday and am pretty clueless as to what's going on now. :shrug:
