Cat owners-question
My neighbors cat keeps leaving dead birds on my front porch. Is he trying to tell me something?

5. It's either a gift, or he is trying to earn your respect/acceptance.
He might simply want to come into your house. Or, your neighbor may scold him for killing birds, but he wants to show off to someone.

9. That's his gift to you!
Lucky you, you get the whole bird. I only get half-eaten mice (the hind part). :eyes:

10. Take it as a compliment - but a warning
Edited on Wed Oct-27-04 03:13 PM by Hog lover
Don't open the door if he appears with a bird in his mouth. My cats like to come to the door with live prey in the hope that I will open the door and let them in with it. I have had to corral birds, chipmunks and baby rabbits and then let them out again.

On edit - forgot the lizards and baby snakes!

13. You're lucky
I had a cat growing up who would catch the birds, but not kill them, and then release them into the house where they would flap around like mad.
