More tech help, please!
Thanks again for the assistance, yesterday. My computer has gotten marginally better, but there are some "infections" I just can't get rid of. Thinking about actually re-installing Windows, as recommended by some yesterday.

Any advice or links to help sites? I'm running Windows ME. I would greatly appreciate your help!!!

I need to get this computer back up & running for the celebration on Election Day!!!

Thanks!!! - tcfrogs

1. Ditch Windows ME if you can.
If you can buy an upgrade version of XP, do it. WinME is nothing but trouble.

ME is super-simple to install. Format your system disk or partition and check out this guide for more help, if needed. http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/winme_install.asp

3. If the processes are running while you are trying to get rid of them
lots of times they are hidden in the startup and you need to disable them.

click on start
click on run

when window appears type in

msconfig

click ok

a window will pop up

click on startup tab

look to see which processes you don't want to run and unclick them

reboot and then run your adware and spyware programs.

Hope this helps

5. Have you tried CWShredder yet?
The nastiest infection we've ever had was a browser hijacker that we would get rid of and it kept coming back. Some thing like coolsearch or I can't remember what. We tried adaware and spybot search and destroy and those would get rid of it for the session but it would come right back after rebooting.

CWShredder finally got rid of it for good. Check out this info.
