I Hate Fox : World Series |
|
Why do I have to watch the World Series on the Fox network? WHY!?!
So, they're starting their pre-game crap, and they start off with an un-funny political joke, mentioning how in Boston, even Republicans and Democrats can agree on how they feel about the game. Then they show a shot from Baghdad, where the "Multi-National Force" is watching the game. The announcer emphasized "MULTI-national," and a caption was placed under the picture from the viewing room as well.
The room had nothing but US 1st Cav soldiers in it.
This did not put me in a good mood.

That's not a bad idea ... |
|
I do something similar with OU football games. Football announcers must be one of the least intelligent life forms on the planet, and I can't stand listening to them. All that time between downs forces them to talk about something, and it tends to make me crazy. So, I put on head phones with some music and watch the game.
Of course, sometimes I'm sure I miss some really funny things, such as when Madison was announcing a game and claimed that natural grass fields were better because the players get more oxygen. Seems he'd just learned about the process by which plants "breathe."

2. Multinational Force now means US Force. |
|
In much the same way Multinational corporation generally means US corporation.
You obviously haven't received your Fox NEWSpeak Dictionary in the mail.

3. Just try to think of it as the Simpsons network |
|
while you're watching the game. I find that helps me cope.

The announcers are just inane, and do we really have to see shots of people in the crowd every two seconds? Although it was kind of funny last night. Shot after shot of very gloomy looking people. What were they thinking? This should cheer up the Cards fans at home!
