Need help: Targets of ridicule |
|
Some of you have read my columns in the past, and know that I've written a lot about George W. Bush and his wacky administration.
It occurred to me that, under a President Kerry, I will not have a target to write about.
It's not like it's 1995, when there were plenty of colorful Republicans to ridicule, like Newt Gingrich or Jesse Helms.
Now there's really no one, and you can only write so many times about Ann Coulter/Sean Hannity/Rush Limbaugh, and Bill O'Reilly will be good for some chuckles, but I can't write column after column about Bill O'Reilly.
Hopefully Bush will do plenty of stupid things in his post-presidential life, like run for the mayor of Crawford or star in a wacky TV sitcom.
What to do?

1. I think you'll find plenty of targets, |
|
poking their heads out of the ground, making idiotic comments about the new administration.

2. What's wrong with poking a bit of fun at Kerry now and again? |

The Daily Show is starting early and even a rock-hard Dem like myself can't help but crack a smile at some of Big John's quirks. It's the Repukes who can't take a joke. And for targets of serious ridicule they'll always hold the crown.

3. Trust me, you don't need to worry about finding villains |
|
With John Kerry as president and their god incarnate defeated, there will be more than enough right-wing psychos rearing their ugly heads.

Bill Frist? Grover the Monster Norquist? The Rev. Insert Name Here? There's still plenty of targets out there.

7. There will still be plenty of conservatives around. |
|
They're not just going to go away and sulk. We'll still more than likely have a Republican majority in the House...and many local politicians are Republicans, too.
