Tony LaRussa and the World Series
Does this guy carry some sort of World Series jinx? Does he get really uptight and pass it on to his team?

There must be something to it.

1988 World Series: Oakland loses 4-1

1990 World Series: Oakland loses 4-0

2004 World Series: St. Louis about to lose 4-0

1. yeah, those a's teams were painful
I was a big fan at the time, and when they lost to the reds in '90 was a very dark time for me

4. Wire to Wire Reds of '90 was a great time for me...NASTY BOYS!!!
It was the most fun I had since the Reds swept the Yanks in '76..year before that took Red Sox out in 7.

3. Even with the '89 sweep
His record in World Series games is 5 wins 16 losses.

It's not just that his teams lose. They lose badly.

And I'm a Cards fan, so it's extra painful for me.

6. Damn dude I'm sorry...
I know the Cards were the best team in baseball this year...it sucks when you got the better team and lose. I'll never forget the '73 NLCS of my Reds against the lowly Mets. Mets were barely over .500 in regular season then took out my Big Red Machine(Rose,Morgan,Bench,Perez,ect)...I was walking around in a daze for days.

7. You win some, you lose some
I just hate to see them lose in such embarrassing fashion. :(
