I am so pissed right now I'm shaking
Ok, here's the story: I was at work, waiting on a customer who wanted five cases of beer, and only had two with her, so I had to go grab the other three from the back room, so I asked the two girls I was working with, who were in the kitchen, to come up and wait on the other customers while I was doing that. One of them, Summer, came straight up, but there were about five or six customers, so both of them needed to be up there, so I asked Julie to come up, to which she responded "There's only two customers!" in an extremely snotty way.

Now, Julie is a bitch. A preppy little priss who always gets her way from the other guys who work with her because she's good looking. Unfortunately for her, I actually have her do actual work, as I'm immune to her charms (I went to high school with her, so I already know what a manipulative bitch she is). So when I came back inside from helping the customer, I sarcastically told her "thanks for the help" and then she started going off on me about don't yell at me and blah blah blah, and I went off on her and told her not to cop a fucking attitude with me, and I just blew my top and left. I'm about to call my boss and tell her about this, because Julie needs to listen to people who have seniority over her.

I can't believe what a bitch she is.

1. Well, you probably should call your boss.
She probably will and you may want to explain your side, before the situation gets out of hand. Apparently, she and the boss need to discuss whatever supervision situation there is at your workplace.

2. Well, technically, I was the supervisor at the moment
My younger brother, who is a supervisor, left about twenty minutes before it happened, so since I had the most seniority of the three of us who were there, they are supposed to defer to me. Summer was fine, but Julie was just snotty as hell.

6. Trust me, my boss loves me
If anyone ends up toast, it will be Julie. Just got off the phone with the boss, she's going to have a talk with Julie, and she knows full well that Julie must have really set me off, because I'm not a complainer when it comes to work.

15. I hope your boss, loves you, because a superivsor should not leave the
store. Did I read you correctly, you left the store.

3. I'll bet there's something else bothering you.
Frustration is everywhere... and it does lead to temper outbursts. I'm sorry, I wish I could hire you away from that place so you wouldn't have to put up with such crap. I have the same thing at my job... people I can't stnd (self-righteous immoral repugs) and I quite often find myself overreacting to anything frustrating. Good luck tolerating... or finding a better group of people to work with.

5. I deal with such attitudes every now and then as a supervisor.
I make them an offer; get off your ass, do your job or clock out....I have a reputation for being fair but I don't mince words either.

7. You just left without permission?
Most places I have worked that is grounds for termination. Call your boss and explain, try not to curse or call Julie a "bitch" when talking to your boss. Good Luck

14. Co-worker
But its not like I was giving her an order. There was a line of customers, and I was the only one at the counter at the time, and I needed someone to wait on the customers while I ran the beer out for the customer. I asked her to please come up and help, and she immediately copped an attitude with me.

10. Little Miss Julie sounds...
....like some of the very pretty woman I went to college with and
who loved to wind the fellows around their finger.
I doubt if the whole pack of them had one sincere bone in their body.
I usually went for the women who were on the ball and had deeper feelings
than what was either in or out.

As my Dad used to say "silly women for silly men".

Mr.Bush Baud Man! He Vedy, Vedy Baud Man !!

12. if she's as manipulative as you say ...
Best to have a good long talk with your boss, just in case. People like that have a way of chipping at even long-standing good relationships. I had a similar situation last year, where I was put in charge of something. The guy who was supposed to be my assistant had quite the attitude problem -- I suspect this was due to my being a woman, and because I was still working on my PhD at the time and he'd already had his for a year or so.

I have a reputation around the department for being relatively easygoing, and not asserting authority unless there's a good reason for it (let alone punishing or humiliating subordinates, when an explanation of "why we're doing this" and polite request usually suffice).

Anyway, this guy decided to push his luck. People began to complain about him not being available when he was supposed to be around, being snooty, etc. I went to talk to the boss, and it's a good thing I did, because he had already started a smear campaign against me ... he was going to use the fact that I wasn't telling him to shape up, as "proof" that I was negligent.

It sounds warped, but he almost pulled it off ... luckily the boss is pretty experienced, and trusted my explanation.

Good luck dealing with this, SZJ. Workplace backstabbing SUCKS, and I wouldn't be surprised if this Julie person is going around currying favor with all your co-workers, in the hopes of getting them to side with her. She may try to use your reaction as "proof" that you are unreliable and nasty. All I can suggest is, try to keep your cool when dealing with her ... even offhand teasing is something she will try to spin as "having it in for me". With luck there will be fellow employees who haven't fallen for her wiles ... if they see you treating her reasonably and fairly on a consistent basis, they can at least witness that you aren't hassling her.

It's weird how some people would rather spend their effort scheming and manipulating, rather than doing a fairly straightforward job (helping the customers) -- but there are folks who like doing it, just because it makes them feel powerful. Julie would be over the moon if you got disciplined or fired on her account -- don't give her the satisfaction!

13. The only thing I'm really worried about is getting her fired
She can be decent every once in a while, but this just pissed me off to the point where I had to call the boss about it. She's definitely on my side on this one. She's a very good boss, and wouldn't fall for any bullshit from Julie.

I don't want her to get fired for this, and I suspect she won't, but the boss will give her a talking to. The only thing I'm worried about is that she'll get snippy when Amanda (the boss) is talking to her, and get fired, but really, if that happens, that's her problem, not mine.
