Congratulations to BoSox from a Cardinal fan |
|
I was truly impressed with the strength of your team, hitting and pitching. Your team was super down the stretch. Eight straight.
Good show!

1. You guys were INCREDIBLE this year... |
|
and I tip my cap to NL MVP Pujols, Edmonds (class act), and your ENTIRE team... growing up a Red Sox fan my entire life, I couldn't be MORE thrilled right now (literally crying... maybe it's the cheap champagne), but take NOTHING away from what you Cards accomplished this year. And we'll see you next year, baby! RED SOX!!!

2. Hey, that was really nice of both of you! |
|
I am a Cubs fan, and I could not be happier for the Sox.
And I have to say the Cardinals deserved to be there. Their team was truly the best in the National League.

6. It's nice to meet a gracious Cubs fan! |
|
Speaking as a Cardinal fan. More Cub fans like you need to be at my campus.
Also, I tip my hat to the Sox. What an amazing team you have. You clearly wanted this more, and deserved it. What say a rematch in 2005?

7. There is supposed to be a traditional rivalry between |
|
the Cubs and the Cardinals. They keep telling us we are supposed to hate each other. No "true Cubs fan" would give any credit to the Cardinals. I think that is nutty.
My son, who is also a huge Cubs fan, went to one of the playoff games in St. Louis. He was yelling for the Cards just as loudly as anyone there.

3. The St. Louis organization and fans are the class act of baseball. |
|
I've always admired both since Bob Gibson shut down my Sox in 1967.

No team could have beaten the 2004 Boston Red Sox in the World Series. My Cardinals ran into the buzzsaw that was the team of idiots on a mission that didn't care about curses and mythology.

There was no way to stop that train. It took some of the sting out to lose that quick, I suppose. It was a mercy killing. We need some pitchings aces, at least one or two. But so do most teams.

8. And Busch Stadium management were totally classy |
|
They were gracious and let the Sox fans and players cavort for a LONG time without asking them to vacate the stadium. Classy team, classy fans.
