Phuck! Did you heart Schilling on GMA? He ended the interview by |
|
saying "Tell everyone to go out and vote. And tell everyone to vote Bush!"
I assume he meant Busch beer.
His wife gasped, so either she doesn't agree with him, or, like Charlie Gibson, thought it was inappropriate.

until that happened. Good pitcher but disillusioned!

he's always had a runaway mouth. I'll always remember his part of bringing the Diamondbacks a World Series ring, but it was no secret that his teammates in AZ were worn out with him and his mouth.
I admire his pitching, but not his politics.

4. Note that he was both on Today and GMA! Didn't catch CBS--he sure |
|
was making the rounds!
That said, I doubt I'd agree with many sport figures when it comes to politics--they're heavily Republican.

Most pro athletes live in a very sheltered world and are usually dumber than mud.

11. I'm surprised he didn't say "The Lord wants you to vote for Bush" |
|
The guy is phony, two-faced creep. With the integrity and ethics of a rovian neocon. His teammates past loathe him.

Curt Schilling is one of the most money pitchers I have ever seen in a Red Sox uniform. What he did in Game 6 of the ALCS and Game 2 of the World Series will become the yardstick for all gutsy athletic performances for decades to come. More than anyone else (Foulke, Cabrera, Mientkiewicz), it was Schilling's addition to the roster that pushed the Sox over the top this year.
And yes, he's a Republican. A vocal one, at that.
Oh, well. Nobody's perfect.

They are overwhelmingly Republican, but I just wish he had the good sense not to inject politics into what is a sports story and a celebration.

He did such an amazing job in the post- and the Series, he could say he supports Pat Buchanan and I'd still love him. :)

Did Schitforbrains even consider that more than half the Red Sox fan base is probably Democrat? Did he consider that maybe sports is a refuge from politics for people? No, his personal agenda was more important. His pitching performance was amazing, his charity work for ALS is amazing...his stock as a legend just went down in my book.
