I really want a big brownstone in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn. The Brownstones there are among the most beautiful houses anywhere.

1. I'll take Manhattan.
But Brooklyn is pretty damn great, too. I love the Cobble Hill area. Nice views of "the city" from there.

3. Won the lottery?
If so, Brooklyn Heights is an easier commute to Manhattan.

4. I loved Park Slope
The years I lived there were some of the best when I lived in NY.

8. Here, here!!
Park Slope is a hidden treasure in New York. It has an excellent park, and of course, the Library! Subways make it a convenient trip into the city. I used to ride my bike over the Brooklyn Bridge to the World Trade Centers every day! A wonderful ride!

5. I feel more at home in Brooklyn
It gives me more of a neighborhood feeling than Manhattan. But I'd definitely like to live in Manhattan if I could afford a more spacious apartment there.

6. Brooklyn, no doubt
as close to the city as you want to be, with rural LI only an hour's drive away. I like Bay Ridge - had friends who lived there when I was living in Gravesend. Liked Gravesend OK, too, for that matter. Nice views of Coney Island from the rooftops.

9. Clinton Hill/Fort Greene
Beautiful old mansions and brownstones, tree lined streets and avenues and still an emerging market.

I've lived here for 5 years after living in Manhattan (upper west side (85th/Columbus) and far east village(Avenue C/6th)) and have to say it is by far the BEST.

Easy to park my car, 15 to Time Square on the subway, easy access to all the bridges and a lot less expensive than Park Slope (IMHO totally Yupped-out).
