Think "Saw" is gonna be any good? |
|
The promo definately looks grisly. Would like to see a good horror film for a change.
Also, is "The Grudge" as awful as I've heard/read?

1. I thought the Grudge was really creepy. |
|
And I don't get creeped out easily. I don't know about Saw though.

2. Someone here saw a sneak preview and thought it sucked, but I |
|
still want to see it. I don't listen much to what other people think about movies, etc, some people seem to think that EVERYTHING sucks.

It was terrible. It gets even worse once you leave the theatre and start thinking about all the plot holes. If "Seven" had never been made I might have thought this was a better movie but this movie would not have existed without "Seven".

4. More Seven than Scream, I hope. |
|
Horror movies are so compromised by the need to put 12yo's in the seats. If "Silence" were remade now Lechter would be played by Method Man.

The kiddies are in school, so the grownups can go to the cinema now. If "Saw" were a "Scream" type film, it would have come out in July. Look at how they held the theatrical release of "Sideways" until this week. It's been in festivals and art-houses since summer, but it would have tanked in competition with "Spider-Man 2" or what have you. Now it's poised to do quite well in the mainstream theaters.
On edit - also, Cary Elwes is not the guy you star in a film if you're going for the teen demo.
