1. I would guess the other way around...
I went to a Franciscan seminary for HS. St. Frances loved nature. Republicans hate nature.

2. I don't know much about Franciscans, but
Jesuits put a high premium on education and critical thinking.

Many Jesuits in history have also aroused the ire of the Vatican by being too tolerant of the beliefs of those they were supposed to convert.

It wouldn't surprise me if Jesuits tend Democratic.

I think they both kinda fit Democratic.
But I'll tell you one thing. Mormons are definitely Republican. Just ask my mormon friend. There is no convincing him.

5. I know some people who work at a Jesuit College.....
and the Jesuits are liberals! They oppose all killing.

Father Andrew Greeley is a Democrat and a Jesuit!

Not a position that I support at all. It is the type of thinking that keeps the church from getting the reforms it needs
