People can be very nice sometimes....
a total stranger just gave me a bunch of plants. My landscaper was buying a pond liner for a small pond I'm putting in my back yard, and a woman in line at the store asked him what he was going to put in it, plants, fish or both.

He said both.

She said "don't buy any! I have a bunch to give you." So we called her today and she invited us over and gave us a BUNCH of beautiful water plants for the pond. She also said to call her in the Spring for some other kinds of plants and for some goldfish.

A total stranger. How cool is that?

I gave away a two of my old strollers to a couple of women that walk by my house regularly.

It makes you feel nice to do things like that. :)

3. Gardeners are like that
We LOVE to give stuff away because it grows so fast, you forced to throw it away if you can't find anyone to give it to.

6. Yep! Right now, some nice lady is saying
how nice Dookus was to take her extra plants off her hands.

"She even came by to pick them up herself!!"

4. That is nice
You know, I really do have faith in people. Maybe it's because I used to hitchhike a lot. I don't mean back in the days when everyone hitched (I did then, too). But I hitched across the country with almost no money in 1998 and I met some of the nicest people. I never ever asked anyone for anything but a ride but people were just unfailingly kind.

They'd let me sleep in their car while they got a motel room. One guy got me a motel room over my objections. They bought me food, gave me money or food, one guy brought me with him to a tourist stop that required admission, another lady put me on a bus to get me through San Francisco. A guy in Petaluma let me stay overnight at his house. A group of kids in Oregon brought me to the local casino for sodas and arcade games.

Everyone was unfailingly kind and generous and though I asked for names and addresses to pay them back, all said the same thing - "pass it on." Which I do whenever opportunity arises to do so.

I really believe that most people, if given the chance, are good people.

5. That's nice. I'll wager she felt as good, maybe better than you.
Last night my mate paid for a checkbook-free, broke young woman's groceries. It was only 7 or 8 dollars, and he had it and she was going to have to leave without her food. He felt good; he blushed when he told it.

I felt good too.

7. Since water plants can be very expensive...
...beyond cool! Maybe you can trade her plants. That's what gardeners do-as a matter of fact, I need to break up a bunch of stuff in my yard! but I been busy organising and inventorying a rare plant nursery. :) I just brought home a disanthus cercidifolius-rare and gorgeous!
