You could say those damn Buckeyes are lucky but I say it's because their coach inspires a don't give up attitude! So I'm gonna start pushing his name on my http://firedavewannstedt.com web site.

He's the kind of coach the Phins need.

1. LOL
That's cool of you to say, trumad. But don't hold your breath. Ohio State is Tressel's dream job. I don't see him leaving for the NFL.

8. You'd have back up a Brinks truck to his house
It's the only job he's ever wanted.

Yes that was a good game and I was impressed by two things. Their tenacity and their tackling. Signs of a well coached team.

5. Fiedler isn't so great either
I was upset about the Griese injury. Fiedler had better have a damn good game against the Jets or else I think the Dolphins should put Griese in as starter as soon as he's healthy.

Wannstedt is just the surface of the Dolphins problems.

6. To hell with Tressel, give us nasty linemen
The Dolphin DTs, Chester and Bowens, should be awarded the cheerleader of their choice if they ever get upfield two yards on a pass rush. Our DEs are twigs. On offense we have the legendary Tim Ruddy at center, flanked by Bears reject Todd Perry. Our other guard is coming off an Achilles tear. The left tackle is a 3rd round rookie who played tight end at Memphis.

Get my overrated drift? I just spent 4 weeks in Miami and the media is unreal. The 'Canes are 2 TDs better than anyone and the Fins are so talented that Wanny will be worthy of felony prosecution minus a Super Bowl berth.

Pardon me if I don't see it, any of it. Our premium picks of late have produced the likes of John Avery, Yatil Green and of course Jamal Fletcher. This year Eddie "Munster" Moore, who lasted one quarter of the first preseason game. Two first rounders went for Ricky Williams. The premier young talent is simply not present. A disruptive defensive tackle would be a windfall. Like William Joseph, who was there last year where the Dolphins would have picked except the Saints had our choice so the Giants got another stud 'Cane.

The offseason pickups this year were a disaster. Seau and Knight simply diminish defensive team speed. Zgnonina is a journeyman farce at DT. At WR I can't believe a tough, instinctive and productive gem like Gadsden is dumped in favor of a coach killer like Darrius Thompson, who looks great in non-contact scrimmages but gets no separation on Sundays.

Where are we great? Not Fiedler, not the O-line, not a defense that stops every meaningful drive except anything in the 4th quarter. I hope they prove me wrong starting today, but down the road there is not enough trenches talent to produce anything special in January.

7. Lose one game and the sky is falling
LOL

Winning the homeopener hasn't ever done the Dolphins much good in the past...

Maybe this is a sign of better things to come.

Then again, I could be suffering from the heat... :)
