Greatest American
The CBC is running a special on the Greatest Canadian. It's been narrowed down to 4 politicians + 3 scientists + 2 hockey guys and one humanitarian/hero.

Who would you nominate at the greatest Americans?

3. Living, or dead?
Edited on Thu Oct-28-04 08:01 PM by Spider Jerusalem
If living, then...hmm. George Soros, maybe. Bill Clinton. Muhammad Ali. A few others I can't think of right now.

Dead: Franklin Roosevelt, Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Jonas Salk, Albert Einstein (he became a citizen).

10. Tommy Douglas is #1 right now in the Canadian thing...
Don Cherry is #2, how fucking sad is that?

I'm excited about Tommy being #1 though.

As for best American, I don't know. A lot of great Americans, I just can't think of anyone to consider the "best" off hand.

The ultimate conservationist.

Gave a speech after getting shot.

Lost a son in WW1 (back when the politicians kids use to fight)

And did so much more that my fingers would hurt if I typed it all...
