Anvil Shoot Experts?
How high can you lift an anvil with 380 tons of TNT?

(I think actual anvil shoots use black poweder and the record is around 400 feet)

2. You wouldn't even need that much.
Rule of thumb is it takes about 14 pounds of H2-LOX to put 1 pound in orbit. High explosives don't have quite the impulse of real rocket fuel so it's be more like 20 or 22 lb.

So given a typical anvil weighing 50 lb, you would maybe need 1/2 ton of high explosive to put it in orbit. Maybe as much as four or five tons if you add in an appropriate launch vehicle as opposed to just sitting it on a pile and lighting it up.<p>

So that means the stolen explosives could put close to a hundred anvils in orbit if you applied it properly.
