6 months ago, I don't believe there was a SINGLE thread or post that had the ubiquitous, and ever-growning cancer of an abbreviation known as "OMG!".

Now, I can't fucking open a page on DU without 4 or 5 of them, maybe more.

What the fuck is up with this shit?

First, it sounds whiny and hysterical. Doesn't set a good tone for a post, especially if you want to get something that IS actually serious across.

Second, that level of excitement is rarely merited, and especially on the subject matter it is used on. "OMG! My ice in the freezer!! IT'S FROZEN! OMFG!"

Some kind of inverse-proportional rule going on there with the excitement/importance.

GET A FUCKING GRIP ON YOURSELVES. It's already a moldy- over-used, trite, piece of shit cliché. I can't put anyone on ignore who uses it fast enough. Think of what you would sound like "in real life" if you went around saying OhMyGod! all the time. Like a douchebag. Then again, maybe you DO sound that unhinged all the time. But spare the rest of us trying to hang out here.

The thing that finally got to me... is that I have been putting people on ignore who use it TOO MUCH, and in the inverse/hysterical way I described. Yet! More and more threads pop up with it, which can only be explained by its usage skyrocketing.

I am real anal about originality. It seems to be a bandwagon trend, and even worse than 'ask me anything!' which is also an automatic ignore trigger.
