Hi - I'm new
I love this site and have finally found people 'like me'. It's a great feeling.

I think I understand most things, but have 2 question which have been driving me nuts.

1) Who the hell is Tweety??
2) What is: nt n/t ???????

Also if anyone can think of any other cryptic terms I might like to know, please help me!!

3. Tweety is whore chris matthews of "hardballs"
n/t means no text, meaning there is text in the header but not in the message itself.

slower from having to click on an empty post.

6. Here you go
Tweety is Chris Mathews on MSNBC and nt (n/t) means no text. You put this usually in the subject line to say there is no message body. Some people use eom (end of message).

9. ack - tweety is Chris Matthews and n/t means "no text"
Edited on Thu Oct-28-04 11:03 PM by 101er
that means there is nothing in the message part so when you look at responses to your posts, you know if there is more than what is in the subject line. Other than that, you need to know what a moran is: He's our equivalent of a moron:

Any other questions?

17. It's polite, When someone checks their responses to their posts
if it says n/t or eom, they don't have to click to see if there is additional text in the message.

Welcome to DU, Chimpanzee. Make yourself at home.
Answers:

1. Tweety is Chris Matthews. I think he got his name because of his big yeller head like the Looney Tunes character.

2. n/t means "no text", meaning you've made your point and you're done. "eom" is an equivalent of "n/t" meaning "end of message".
Both are optional.

12. Welcome to DU!
Tweety is Chris Matthews from Hardball. He's called Tweety because he has a big, blonde head and there is an uncanny resemblance to the bird.

n/t means "No Text" - When your subject line says all you have to say, you add "n/t" to it so people know there's nothing in the body of your message.

Again ... welcome. :hi:

Tweety is Chris Matthews (yeah, that one confounded me for a long time. I don't have cable!), "n/t" means "no text", "eom" means "end of message" Others:

LIHOP- let it happen on purpose (relates to 9/11)

MIHOP- Made it happen on purpose

Freeper- a member of Free Republic, which is a site for knuckle dragging republican mouth breathers.

IMHO- in my humble opinion

Moran- misspelling of "moron" by a Freeper, as in "get a brain, morans"!

That's just a few offhand!

20. Thanks everyone!
I learned everything I needed and more.

Now I'm gonna kick ass and take no prisoners!

GO KERRY! I used to be ABB, but Kerry has grown on me so much - he really will be a great president!

I hope he will address media consolidation, election reform, and dismantling corporatism as an infuence in American politics.
