10. Yes! Do zinc, and get some zinc lozenges if you don't have any! |
|
I swear by the zinc lozenges -- I have turned back many colds with them. but you gotta start popping them at the first signs, so don't hesitate!
Feel better -- :toast:

12. don't take zinc on an empty stomach though.... |
|
At least not the pills, the losenges may be alright, but zinc on an empty stomach can cause horrible cramps.
But it really does work if you catch it in time, at least for me. And I still swear by it even after the time I took it on an empty stomach and had cramps for close to 6 hours.

Kept me alive in Ireland. Best to have some in hot water, with a little sugar, a bit of lemon, and 3 cloves. Have at least 2, or 3 if you think so.

A tablet in water, like Alka-Seltzer. Has a little bit of everything in it to make your cold shorter and less difficult.
Hope you feel better soon.

5. Hey my mom gave me a tip |
|
She poopoos the flu shot thing. She said she heard on a program that you should put Neosporin ( trademarked antibiotic goo) inside your nostrils and it will keep airborne bacteria out.
So two in this household are getting over bad colds and tonight my throat felt sore. I did the Neosporin thing anyway. Kind of too late but my throat feels better.
Goddess are you having the dizzies, too? I hate this as we were planning a small Halloween gathering and if what everyone else looked like is what I'M gonna look like, forget partyin.' I'll be spendin the weekend under the covers... :boring:
Hope you feel better! (Some Guinness to cheer you up)

7. That sounds interesting... |
|
It can't hurt to try it. Yeah, I've been getting kind of dizzy, especially when I stand up. I can tell it's head congestion from that plugged pulse I get in my ears.
Thanks for the tip!

:grr: I got there the first thing in the morning, and the line was huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge! I had to be there in person to show proof of paying a parking ticket, and received no paperwork through the mail. Unfortunately, I forgot that they needed my husband's signature to process it, because the title's in his name. Luckily, I realized this after waiting only about 10 minutes.
Fortunately, when I returned, the line was much shorter, and it didn't take more than about 15 minutes to get everything done.
Thanks for the advice! :hi:

Here's an old cold remedy I learned from my grandma: Neatly slice your head off from your neck, leave it for a couple days, then reattach it. No fuss, no muss.

Either I had a zinc deficiency or I was defintely feeling punkish, but this stuff really works. Your cold will subside in days.
