I met a very interesting middle-aged woman in the early 1980's who'd grown up in Vienna in the 1930's. She and her little girl school chums were trotted out several times, in their school uniforms, to pose for photos with Hitler. He'd pinch their cheeks, kiss their heads, and the newsreal cameras would whir.

As an adult woman, she was an immigration activist, loyal liberal Democrat and Reagan hater.

Standard stuff, fascist leaders posing with children. Always chiling, however.
