Most ridiculous TV edit of a movie? |
|
Pulp Fiction usually gets pretty butchered on broadcast and cable TV, but the worst TV edit I've ever seen was House Party 3 (don't ask why I was watching House Party 3). Mickeyfickey in place of motherfucker? And motorscooter? What a bunch of mother father chinese dentists.

1. they did that to "do the right thing" too! |
|
I originally saw that in the theater, then on cable -- can't remember the channel. It was "mickey-frickey" this and "mickey-frickey" that. My old roommate and I said that to each other for a year afterward. LAME!

2. How about the Caddyshack scene where Bill Murry is firing up the |
|
huge doobie with Chevy Chase? Hilarious scene that got cut from network TV thanks to the Reagan "just say no" (to humor, apparently) policy.

The director did his own version for TV, it's a classic in its own right.
Melonfarmer. Classic.

We used to crack up everytime they would play MASH on network TV. There was this recurring Sgt who kept saying god damned army or some such thing. On the network edit he constantly said glcch damned army. glcch damned army jeep.

I remember when the former TNN were doing those uncut and uncensored versions of the Godfather movies they'd blur out the boods, but not rest of the stuff. Odd, isn't it? Love, Yaoi Huntress Earth

10. Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me |
|
Not only could they not explain what the problem was between Laura and BOB/Leland -- since they couldn't show the incest scene -- they also had a scene where she walked into the girl's bathroom and then walked back out with a stupid expression on her face with no explanation since they cut out the part where she was snorting coke in the stall.
All in all, this film should NEVER appear on commercial tv...

I don't think there's any original dialog in any of the TV edits. How many times can a person hear "Oh fudge".

Really, making Jackie Gleason "say" scumbuzzard is just stupid. It's sonofabitch.

In the movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off...
Original: "Sometimes you have to say 'what the fuck.' If you can't say it, you can't do it."
Edit: "Sometime you have to say 'what the hell.' If you can't say it , you can't do it." It doesn't make any sense. If you can't say hell, you can't do hell? How do you hell?
They should have skipped the entire line, but it makes me laugh everytime I hear it. :)

TNT cut a good third out of "Fargo", and a whole lot out of "White Men Can't Jump".

They removed "fargin" "Bastages" and "iceholes" from the verbage, but then show a newspaper witht he word "fargin" in it.
I don;t know who did the editing, but there was not one curse in there, and they cut crap out anyways in an illogical and inconsitent manner.
