Pimp Costumes on 11-year-olds. What do you think?

I dropped my daughter off at her middle school today and several of the 6th grade boys were dressed in full pimp gear for the costume contest. My first thought was, "What kind of parent would pay for a pimp costume for an 11-year-old and then let the kid wear it to school?" Thoughts?
