What my husband said to one of his Bush supporting students.
This kid is a high school student, btw.
Kid: If I could vote, I would vote for George Bush.
My husband: Why?
Kid: Because I can't understand anything Kerry says.
My husband: That's precisely why a lot of uneducated people vote for George Bush.

I laughed when my husband told me this. I guess the kid always acts like moron in his class. The kid didn't think anything of the comment. He wasn't even slightly insulted.

2. My only problem is this...
...we cannot under any circumstances look down upon those lacking formal education. The greatest wisdom comes from the working class people who may or may not be savvy and so forth. The solution is to carry out education as fully as possible, and create working class, aware intellectuals.

4. One of the foundations of Republican leadership is shitty education.
Because well educated people who are NOT rich figure out pretty damn quickly that Republicans are bad for their health.

7. Besides, they need undereducated workers
...for their low-wage "manufacturing" McJobs.

8. Yeah.. but these kids...
don't even try. He makes the class as easy as he possibly can for them. Most of them think they are smarter than they really are. A lot of the kids at this school come from rich families too.

10. I understand.
I draw the line at class. The affluent, lazy youth are a problem. They don't deserve "easy." I wish anyone teaching a great deal of success.

5. That's funny
And just the fact that the kid didn't seem insulted makes me laugh. Even when I was in High School I had more sense than that.

9. Yeah I know.
I think my husband said it to the kid knowing he would not be insulted by it. It really is a true statement, anyhow.

6. We have got to prove it
Kerry needs to be presented as a trustworthy individual who does NOT take advantage of other people. This is a morbid fear of the ignorant and the unintelligent: am I being taken advantage of? They somehow perceive George Bush as being a guy on their level, who doesn't seem to have the capacity to swindle them. I just wish that they understood that truly intelligent humans are the ones with integrity and honesty.
