3. Depends a lot on the machine.

Last year we only got a bit over 300 feet, but that was the first time the machine was succesfully fired. We hope to do a lot better (or break trying) this year.

In our class (torsion powered) the record is about 1300 feet. In "unlimited cataput" its about 1800 feet. (a figure we hope to match someday) The best of the air cannons are at 4500 feet.

If you live in the MD/DE area, the national competition is Nov 5-7. I think it is a good way to unwind after the euphoria of tuesday.
