I'm happy. Now I have a remote for the TV in here.
The remote is for an old 5-disc DVD player I rarely use, but one of the features is that the remote control is universal and programable.
So I managed to download the instruction manual from RCA to get the code for this extra TV I had (sans long lost remote) which I dusted off and set up in here, and it worked!
After much trial and error. The original codes for this TV I got off Google were way wrong, the correct ones were in the manual for the DVD player.
I'm thrilled.

... RCA makes a big universal remote that comes with most RCA satellite receivers. I have had no less than 6 of those damn remotes, they always fail after a few months. I will never buy a RCA remote again! A pox on them! Maybe 2 or 3 poxes!

It's just one lil' ol' reee-mote, so's I can watch m'dang shows...

on edit: You're right about RCA though, the actual 5-disc DVD unit this remote is supposed to be for... sucks.

... not trying to jinx yours. I'm sure the trouble I had was somehow related to my 3 son's mistreatment of the damn things, but then again I switched to another brand and have had no trouble :)
Cheer up, the worst one lasted about 3 months :evilgrin:

I have the same problem, only with JVC. I will never buy another JVC product as long as I walk this earth, so I do understand where you're coming from. Crappy merchandise, crappy service, crappy warranty. (It must be something with those damn three letter brands)
