Ad-Aware users: it's time to get Ad-Aware SE |
Or at least when I tried to download a new reference file for Ver 6.2, it stalled at 5% complete, and also wiped out the old reference file. Thus I uninstalled and went to get another copy and found that SE is it. SE is also free for personal use and is available at the usual places such as Download.com. I haven't run it yet, but have a shrewd idea it's going to clear out hundreds of items. Will do so momentarily.

2. It certainly cleaned out mine. My original download wouldn't operate |
until I installed the new updates. My bad.

6. Only 62 objects. Apparently running Spybot S&D as well as Ad-Aware, |
and immunizing the machine with the former, makes some kind of difference.:)

7. It's a browser like IE |
Find it at http://www.mozilla.org/firefoxIt promises not to attact spyware, but you'll still need AdAware just to make sure.

9. I've been using Firefox for a year or two |
I regularly run AdAware and never have any crap on my PC. Except one day last week when I had to fire up IE to check something - result: 41 pieces of crap from one brief session.
