OMG! OMG! OMG! Ask Me Anything So I Can Ignore You!

6 months ago, I don't believe there was a SINGLE thread or post that was a result of my ubiquitous handiwork, as I was not yet a DU member.

Now, I can't fucking open the lounge page on DU without seeing 4-5 threads on which I have made some smartassed comment, or given heartfelt advice or a 'hang in there' message to. Or squealed in delight at, in the privacy of my home, kitten and puppy pics.

What the fuck is up with this shit?

First, I am getting less and less done around the house to stare at DU. Oh no wait-I was already putting things off by posting news and commentary at hypocrites.com. Not setting a very good tone for my political cred to continue to post almost exclusively in the lounge.

Second, this level of participation in the Lounge only is hardly merited, except that I find it extremely 'exciting and important' :eyes: when some assclown takes it upon themselves to correct the shit out of someone else or get all up in everyone's faces over the way someone chooses to express his or herself. Basically putting people down for their personal style.

Some kind of inverse-proportional rule going on there with the self-importance.

GET A FUCKING GRIP ON YOURSELVES. It's an internet chat room for chrissake. We ALL like different things. We are not in a committed close relationship with everyone who comes to this board. It’s not as if this board is ‘in real life’. People get upset about others saying ‘bitch’ and ‘OMG’ and everything else under the sun. You won’t agree with everyone all the time. If you did, how fucking boring would THAT be? The whole ‘Sound the way I want you to’ makes the person saying it sound “Like a douche bag”. Then again, maybe you DO run around and correct people all the time. And maybe you aren’t smart enough to accept that people who aren’t you may express themselves differently than you and mean no harm by it-IT’S JUST THEIR MANNER OF EXPRESSION

But spare the rest of us trying to hang out here.

and her first thread was locked with no responses (ironically, it ended in 'ask me anything!') a jokey post, just makes people here look all curmudgeonly and stuff. stuck up and arbiters of the public morals. Just plain mean. And the word that got her locked was used in the subject line in the same way ("I'm a b----") of the thread I'm spoofing.

Your post about newbies getting trashed is one reason I thought this post was apropos.

Good advice on why people may not always be what they seem to be I have learned about that from experience the hard way. Some of us are lonely people aside from what we do. Either be it from working or going to College and then some of us are from abusive situations that we try and escape from for a while plus go to College and work.

It's part of life but my compassion for others over takes my attitude that I am better at something then someone else. I enjoy this board and I have poured my heart out on it many of times and sometimes I wish that I could go back and never have mentioned anything about myself but things happen and people need to express themselves. It might be crying on someone else's shoulder or bitching about life but if it helps them deal with life that's alright with me. I have so many problems to deal with inside of my house but I still find time to study, post and read.

The ignore button is one of the best features of DU. :hug: :grouphug:
