1. The first one was great |
|
But as with most, it was run into the ground. Jason comes to mind in Friday the 13th!

3. Yes, it is a classic movie... |

At the time it was basically guerrilla filmmaking... John Carpenter was an unknown & it was made for virtually nothing. A lot of careers & bank accounts were launched from it. Its profit margin at that point was unprecedented.
It borrows heavily (both stylistically & thematically) from German Expressionism. It touches on a lot of themes of repression, isolation, and the facade of suburban America.
I wrote my thesis on this flick, so I am partial to its influence & brilliance :7

The scene near the end with Jamie Lee Curtis resting on the railing to the staircase, thinking that she's just killed Michael...then he slowly sits up, turns his head over, gets up and starts stalking over...fucking great scene.

6. Agree, see the first one. |
|
It's great fun -- atmospheric, silly at times, Jamie Lee Curtis makes it highly watchable because she plays it intelligently. Turn off the lights when you see it for the full effect.

I saw it one night when I was kept up baking cookies for a Halloween party my friend and I were throwing. It was so scary that I was afraid to leave my chair and walk to the bedroom when it was over.

14. I can't wait until the new Chucky comes out |
|
Have you seen the previews of it? I kind of gathered that they would have another sequel because of the baby being born at the end of the last one. Jennifer Tilly fits perfect in the Chucky movies.

I fell in love with the apartment and the building that it was in from the first movie.
