The butterfly is a scientific term, but it could have a science fiction beginning (haven't completed my research).

I read Ray Bradbury's short story, "A Sound of Thunder", a long, long time ago. It had a great effect on my life.

Having just re-read it, there is a chilling sentence...a timeline
