My Kitty Has Become a BAD BAD CAT!
Edited on Sat Oct-30-04 07:37 PM by The Nation
All of a sudden in the past couple weeks my cat has become the little devil cat. We can't leave her alone in the kitchen if food is out, because she's eaten french toast, crackers, rice...she stuffs her little head into everything!

And she is jumping ontop of places she knows she isn't supposed to go, like the heater, and all over the kitchen and dining room tables. And she doesn't even get off when you scream at her, like she used to, you have to physically come chasing after her before she moves!

I dunno what has caused her sudden evil-ness. She isn't a kitten, she's 12 years old. Isn't she supposed to winding down instead of going nutty, as she gets older? lol

5. I would suggest feliway. Perhaps some of you remember my
wonderful thread about the biting cat, Squidford. He was cured, put your hands on the radio! of his affliction by a product called Feliway. It is expensive but I swear he has almost completely calmed. What film character jumped from behind doors in a film and attacked? That is what Squid started to do, charge and bite. He no longer has any of those behaviors. Feliway is expensive but it has really made a difference. He is a great pet now.

3. Hyperactive thyroid?
That's what a friend of mine's cat had. Huge appetite and bouncing all over the place. 'Course, I'm no vet.

6. Get that cat a kitty
Try some out to see how they mesh.
Get her a kitty to tease and fawn over -
it will keep her busy.

Do as the cat instructs, and there will be no problems.

11. Get her thyroid checked.
Hyperthyroidism can cause the symptoms you describe. Easily treated, but needs to be diagnosed with a blood test.
