1. My thoughts on "bi hatred."
In my own personal experience, it may come from jealousy. The last girl I was incredibly attracted to was bisexual and polyamorous. When I would see her flirting with women and men and having them all wrapped around her finger I would alternatingly get sad or mad wishing that I had an interesting sex life of some kind. Plus, it really hurts when you are attracted to two girls and one of them seduces the other one -- it's like a double slap in the face as far as arousing meaningless jealousy goes. So, I freely admit that in my case it's sour grapes.

you should make up your mind!

I don't like people, who play with this topic. There are too many out there, who think: "I just should try this....!"

It's not about a try, you are born with it or you stay away!!!!!

It's not a try...........acept these people the way they are, it's not a "fashion thing"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

12. Guys get the shit end of being bi, or gay.
Edited on Sun Oct-31-04 01:50 AM by LostInAnomie
Bi or Gay women usually aren't as discriminated against near as much because of all the horny guys wanting to watch.

It is like Bill Maher says, when homophobes talk about how destructive homosexuals are they aren't talking about lesbians.

Sorry about your luck.

on edit: On second thought that probably wasn't the best choice for a subject line. Sorry.

24. Bis Threaten Feelings of Inadequacy for Two - Maybe Four -Groups of People
instead of just one.

Most het guys who love to fantasize about bi-sexual women rarely imagine a reality where their woman leaves them for another woman. The cases where I've seen it happen, those men aren't too happy.

Women are often brought up to feel inadequate in the first place.

I've never been in the situation myself. Rationally, I know that if a guy does something for my man that I can't, it doesn't have anything to do with me. Emotionally, I've no idea what my reaction would be in that scenario.

13. Everybody loves you when you're bi.
Artist: Living Colour
Album: Stain
Title: Bi

People, if they choose you, then they want you to decide
But you'd rather relax, kick back, enjoy the ride
There's a category if you're straight or gay
You're a wild card gambler and you like it both ways

Everybody wants you when you're bi
Looking at the girls and eyeing all the guys
Everybody loves you when you're bi
But the tension and the passion's double-amplified

My lover told me, well, that she's bi
I wanted to scream, there were tears in my eyes
She said baby, baby, don't you cry
'Cause the one I am with, you've been seeing on the side

Everybody wants you when you're bi
Eating with the girls and laughing with the guys
Everybody loves you when you're bi
But the tension and the passion's double-amplified

Everybody wants you when you're bi
Feeling all the girls and touching all the guys
Well, everybody loves you when you're bi
Well a friend of a friend of a friend told me
Everybody's messed up with their sexuality
Well a friend of a friend of a friend told me
I need a closet big enough to live in
A closet for the whole world to live in
I want a closet big enough to live in
A closet for the whole world to live in

Everybody wants you when you're bi
Loving all the girls and loving all the guys
Everybody needs you when you're bi
But the tension and the passion's double-amplified

Everybody wants you
Everybody needs you
Everybody likes you
Everybody loves you

Everybody, yeah
Everybody
Everybody, come on now
Everybody,
Everybody, whoo
Everybody, yeah
Everybody, come on now
Everybody

Well everybody loves you

Bi
Licking all the girls
Bi
Licking all the guys

Everybody's fucked up with their sexuality
You like it both ways
Like it both ways
Bi

At least not for being bi. Since I don't really "know" you, I guess I could dislike you, but it wouldn't be for being bisexual. I have seen more "bi-phobia" in the gay community than the str8 one. I think that is because gays/lesbians feel bis are able to get the privileges of heteros, but that is not the case if the person they fall in love with is the same sex. There are many myths out there about bisexuals. Be who you are and all will be well. Challenge those whose minds can only encompass "gay/straight."

Brightest Blessings!

I'm not bisexual (gay), so I can't even begin to think that I can understand where you're coming from. As far as I'm concerned, however, we're all sexual beings. Members of the gay community who attack bisexuals based on who they love (exactly what the fundies do to us) seem to be somewhat hypocritical.

I personally think that everyone should be free to enter into any relationship with another consenting adult or adults.

Just my two cents.

You're never gay enough for gay people, and straight people think you're deviant.

It especially sucks being a bi woman. Everyone thinks you're a crazy slut...straight guys only see you as a toy to act out their porn fantasies and lesbians won't give you the time of day (we can't be trusted ya know). :eyes:

56. I Like you, The Nation
I hate that innate features that make us the individuals we are, are seen as threatening, feared and ultimately, despised. It's what fucks us up at every turn.

Instead of trying to help people overcome homelessness, hunger and health problems, resources are wasted on keeping people in love from making their union (what we agree to call) legal because they happen to be the same gender.
Or money is squandered on holding people back because the aren't white. Or weren't born in this country.
Then you have people on the 'bottom' looking to find someone to consider to be less than they are. It's learned behaviour

Whereas sexual orientation is not, any more than ethnicity is.

The fact that our society refuses to acknowledge a basic fact, that we are all of the same family (yet made with some differences-differences that don't cause harm to others), and marches blindly behind a narrow dominant paradigm, puzzles me.

59. I saw Graham Chapman on David Letterman in the early 80s
and somehow his sexual orientation came up, which was weird, because Dave gets hinky talking about doing it. Anyway, Chapman said "I prefer men about 75% and women about 25%" which was something I had thought about-that is there are degrees in the sexual orientation thing, like their is in skin tone, height etc. I'd hazard a guess and say 100% of either is very rare...Just MHO.
