Repuke Celebrities
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Republican_celebrities#Actors

Was on wikipedia and found this the other day. Some of these are real "no shit sherlock" sort of discoveries. Others seem like total bullshit. Anyone able to punch some holes in it?

3. haha MC Hammer is on the list
Shit they can keep him. I dunno why he votes republican, I mean he *used* to be rich but blew all his money. Maybe he's still in the rich guy mindset.

14. Yep
He has a tv show on the fundie channel TBN. It's low budget even by TBN standards and quite hilarious.

17. It's his revenge for when the rap community turned on him...
Hammer only sung about how great he was, with ripped-off (see Prince or Rick James) or simplistic tunes as 'music'. Public Enemy was a REAL group, with real lyrics and multi-faceted music and far more deserving of the money.

18. 12 Flag Officers!? Nice!
My family actually got a letter from the * Campaign that said Bush was backed by over 300 Flag Officers. Listed every last one with one glaring ommission.....no career descriptions (unlike Kerry!)

With the exception of Franks and some Marine Commandants, 290 of them were probabally Pencil Pushers and Desk Jockeys, Nothing compared to the combat vets backing Kerry (Including Kerry himself, lol!)

8. There was a bit about celebrity Bush-supporters on TV...
On that God-awful show "Tough Crowd" w/ Colin Quinn on Comedy Central. They played a clip of a news-show interview w/ Drew Carey. Patricia Heaton (wife on CBS's "Raymond") was also mentioned as a Bush supporter.

The whole segment was how celebrity Bush-supporters feel they have a tougher time in Hollywood, etc.

9. I've discussed Sara Michelle Gellar on other threads
Edited on Sun Oct-31-04 04:37 AM by Downtown Hound
she is an ardent supporter of Planned Parenthood and gay marriage. Doesn't sound like a Bush supporter to me.

I'm sure a lot of these other ones are crap too.

If you go to www.newsmeat.com/fec/hof.php you can see the political contributions of many stars. For example this list has Tom Berenger as being a Repuke, yet he has given a lot of money to Max Cleland. Doesn't sound like a Republican to me.

11. Same with Kevin Costner...
He did give to Phil Gramm (?????) in the distant past, but all the recent giving has been to Al Gore and John Kerry.

12. RE: "Repuke Celebrities"
Jimmie Walker and Denzel Washington? WTF?

Under the actors list, they forgot Tom Cruise.

Under the Filmmakers and Entertainment Executives section, they forgot Steven Spielberg.

The also forgot Bill Maher, Lambroghini Libertarian.

Dennis Miller is right where he belongs, despite his past statements that he's a Libertarian.

So is Ben Stein and Jackie Mason. Both are probably AIPAC puppets.

21. Doesnt it make sense for ALL celebrities to support Bush?
1. they usually make a lot of money and dont want it taxed

2. they dont want to get sued by the paparazzi when they push them over the edge

3. they do want censoring of speech / photos

4. they dont live in places where poverty is a nuissance
