Oh unfair nature --- A short observation on difference
Edited on Sun Sep-14-03 08:35 AM by The Lone Liberal

Staring into the morning mirror at my unshaven face and my riotously disheveled hair it occurred to me that nature had visited all the beauty and grace upon the female of the species. While the male is resigned to a certain regimen of morning maintenance if they don’t want to go through the day giving the appearance that they live under a boxcar it is not so with the female. Women only need to languidly stretch to shake off the depredation of the night and thereby undergoing a metamorphous that greets the morning with beauty and grace.

If it would do any good I would protest.

3. Who taught you that you look terrible
Why do you not consider your natural appearance to be a thing of beauty? Remember women have been killing themselves for years trying to stuff their bodies into that space occupied by a Barbie doll. Men too have been affected by social dictates of what they should look like.

6. Ah, but you never have to put on makeup.

The mascara is really interesting when you are half blind as I am, and have to look up very close to the mirror and then battle eyelids that seem to blink of their own volition.

And Jitterbug Perfume is right, adding beauty is only skin deep.

8. Hey, come on now
You wouldn't want the women to be the ugly looking ones, would you?

10. Boy, do I wish I only needed
to roll over, stretch languidly, and pinch my cheeks to start the day. First a cup of coffee, to wake up. Then I check my email, spend a few minutes on DU, all of which is optional, but I'm drinking my coffee and becoming more human during this half hour. Then a shower, dry off, lotion my dry skin, don't forget moisturizer for my face, blow dry my hair, put on makeup. Trust me, you would not want to see me before all that has happened, and I'm still not likely to win the Ms DU contest any time soon.

11. it takes some work to be "graceful and beautiful."
You have to shave your face. I have to shave my legs.
You have a few inches of hair. I have a few feet.

And so on. However, you too can be graceful, etc. Everything we can do, you can do also. I'll send you some makeup, if you'd like.

14. I love men with 5 o'clock shadows and messy hair!
Women have a certain beauty, but it's the man that's got what I want! :9

15. We'd be a good match then, if I were gay
:o

My hair is extremely undisciplined. And I don't even care. :-)

And I hate shaving!

I do so love women, though, even first thing in the morning. Glimpsing a 'morning face' is a necessary reminder that they, too, are human...supernatural beings though they may seem in comparison to manly standards of ineptitude and oafishness. :D
