I baked Kerry cookies and he didn't eat any, I'm reconsidering my vote

It was my Grandmothers recipe and I took great pains with baking preparations and the icing toppings. When I arrived at the rally I stood in line for at least 2 hours (Bad Crowd Management) and finally JK came walking by. I extended my warm cookies in his direction and he just walked by them. :mad:

I Can't tell you how upset I was.

I've never missed a vote in my life but this time I will either not vote or vote for Ralph Nader.

...but the truth is, if the candidate of either party is under SS protection, and has a scheduled stopover at a place where food will be eaten, there is a protocol to be followed. The SS shows up ahead of time, finds out who prepares the food, and literally STANDS OVER the person while the chow is being prepared. The source of the ingredients is vetted, and access to the prep area is limited. A lot of times, the SS will toss on a white coat to fit into a kitchen environment.

Now, you've got guys like Bill, who never met a Mickey D's he didn't like, and the SS was helpless to protect him, because a president CAN override their directives (so much for weecowboy being "forced" to fly to Nebraska to get as far the fuck away from NYC and DC as his chickenshit ass possibly could). All they could do was rely on the law of averages. Bill orders a Big Mac, the server grabs one off the warming rack, and the SS guy says, NO, NOT THAT ONE--the one next to it, or the third one from the end. But Bill ate what the average shmucks ate.

Finally, a word about cookies. Some people just do not go for them. I have a feeling Kerry is not big on sweets. He seems to enjoy the odd beer, pizza, a sam'wich or a sub...but I don't think he has a huge sweet tooth. If he did, Teresa would have had her staff come up with a better cookie recipe for that sexist, wimmens-in-the-kitchen bake-off.

Note to future democratic spouses: When a home arts magazine asks you for your cookie recipe, go to the damn Fannie Farmer cookbook, copy out the recipe for chocolate chip cookies, increase the chips, and toss in some nuts (with a notation that they can be eliminated for those who are allergic, thanks to the toxins weecowboy has put in our environment--who the fuck ever used to be allergic to nuts in the old days? Well, yes. Back in the early '60s (I know, I'm old) I worked for the post office sorting parcels. A box came through addressed to (former) president Eisenhower and it was broken open during handling.
Spilling out of the box was a large fruit cake and several individual fruit cakes separately wrapped in cellophane. Some of us opened and ate the president's little fruit cakes but sent the big one on to Eisenhower. Of course, we could have been fired or worse if anyone found out. At the time, it did occur to us that poisoning was a possibility but we were young and it was a different time.
