The Sports Gods have Spoken: Kerry will WIN! |
|
Edited on Sun Oct-31-04 04:28 PM by feistydem
Kerry's hometeam, the Sox's curse is broken.
The Redskins win/loss historical predictor says Kerry will win decisively.
...and to those of you who say these things are stupid, please let the rest of us enjoy the victories and go complain somewhere else.
This is "the Lounge" afterall. DUers talk about their pets here.

5. Packers hand Kerry the WIN! |
|
Since the Redskins became the Redskins in 1933, the result of the team's final home game before the presidential election has correctly predicted the White House winner. If the Redskins win, the incumbent party wins. If they lose, the incumbent party is ousted.

6. Since the election of 18xx every time the Redskins won, the incumbant won. |

When the Redskins lost, the incumbant LOST! I know it's just another superstition, but it helps anyone who is a real sports fan make it through till Tues! Edit: sorry, it's been since 1936! http://www.benmaller.com/archives/2004/october/25-redskin_presidential_prophecy.html

7. 10 historical Redskin wins in games played right before a prez election |
|
have also resulted in the incumbant president winning.
7 historical Skins losses in games played right before the prez election have resulted in challenger wins (incumbant losses)
This predictor has been right all 17 times.
I believe those are the breakdowns. I am trying to recall just what Keith Olberman said a few nights ago.
What's more, in the 2000 election the Skins were winning and the challenger took it in either OT or a hail Mary. Don't recall but it was one of those.

8. In the last 17 presidental elections |
|
if the skins win their home game just prior to the election, the party in power keeps the white house. If the skins loses, then the party in power loses the white house.
* is scheduled to be in Cincinnati tonight in the bengals stadium. They lost today. Wouldn't it be great if the stadium is only half full?
