4. As long as you don't flame at people who have them, no sweat.
Kids aren't for everyone. I have no problem with people not wanting kids of their own.

33. with enough garlic, thinly sliced
mmmmmmmm, good eating!!

I actually dislike children as well. Wouldn't run down in the car or trip one on the street. But I am tired of all the breeders in my life who think it will be a rare and special treat to take care of their spawn for them. If I don't want to take care of kids of my own, what make them think I want to take care of their's?

12. most are really annoying and self centered and boring....
often they think everything they say/ do is so damned facinating that they can interrupt grownups all day long.
my nephews are being raised to be selfish and rude. they watch tv every moment that they are home, while having dinner, even while opening their x mas presents, and say what else did you get me? is that it? why don't you go to toys r us? etc... the parents never correct them it's gross.
okay, i know three lovely kids, maybe four. but the vast majority are boring, and all about the gimme gimme gimme. yuk.

15. Blame their parents for that
they obviously allow them or even encourage them (without realizing it, possibly) to act that way.

16. No, MOST aren't. It's how much the parents indulge the behavior...
you described that determines whether or not a kid is self-centered.

28. It's our culture of life, you see. Kids look around and see
things that other kids have. So they want them too.

Culture of life really means culture of materialism.

19. Yup - I'm in the "ain't got any, don't want any" corner, too.
I had a guy tell me once that I was selfish for not having kids. He had three kids from three different "baby mamas", all receiving some sort of welfare since he paid little to no child support for any of them. This memorable question was posed to me in a class I attended in Summer 2003 at my local junior college. The debate over which of us was selfish grew quite heated, believe it or not, and the teacher stopped class so he could add his 2¢. Needless to say, bright boy's "logic" was soundly defeated by the overwhelming common sense of the rest of my classmates. It's just amazing how some people think!

18. That's cool
but just don't be critical of those that like kids. As I teacher and administrator I see far too many parents that have kids that shouldn't so if you don't want them, don't have them, fine by me. Having said that I am enjoying the hell out of my little tikes...

27. Love mine and a few others. They're all innocents, but some are pains.
As long as you can try to take into account the facts that they're still kids, their parents influence them greatly, and they might end up okay, you're entitled to be leary of the critters.

I have very mixed feelings, and I have two of my own. Just saw a lot of adorable little trick-or-treaters, along with a number of kids who were ready to enter my home (yeah, come in through the front door without an invitation), paw through my basket of treats, and leave without a thank you. Even then, I blame the parents.

But it's the saintly among us who can put up with all that kids can do. I say this as a former kid.

34. That's pretty much the same for me
I can tolerate my cousins, who are 2, 3, and 7. It's other people's kids that piss me off. Yeah, ok. Let your kids run around screaming in the library. Don't worry about me. I'm just trying to read something.
