I bought a boat load of candy |
|
and NOT ONE KID came to the house.
could it be our Kerry/Edwards sign?
long driveway?
eerie looking house?
no real good lighting?
they KNEW my husband just 'needed' that candy so much they decided to leave it for him?

1. Not as many kids out this year here either. We have a |
|
small circle neighborhood. Usually kids come from all over to go around the circle of about 50 homes. Very few this year. I hate having left over candy!

didn't know how many to expect, we're in a neighbourhood where the houses are far apart, each 'lot' is at least an acre and I'm not sure there are many kids. Halloween has been on nights when I'm working so I had nothing to go by. Guess I'll take the candy to the office tomorrow afternoon/evening. If I have to gain lbs so do the other gals/guys hehe.

I took my child to a friend's neighborhood. We saw one kid, about 10, who was decked out in a jersey covered in K/E stickers and holding a huge VOTE sign (he was in the same general proximity). People at some of the homes were saying "here, take three candies." :)
Not sure where you live, but around here it was cold. That might've affected things a bit in this area.

4. for a long time now (a few years) kids in my town stopped going |
|
house to house trick or treating on halloween...instead, their parents have been taking them to the shopping malls, where, evidently the candy that they get is deemed to be safe (there had been a rash of candies that had had needles, or blades inserted in them ... things that could really harm kids)... and for the last couple of kids that came to our house a couple of years ago, my husband and i opted to drop a couple of quarters in their trick or treat bags.

But we have about an hour and a half left. I always buy extra candy anyway to stock up the candy jar at work.

7. If you don't open the candy bags and save the receipt..... |
|
...you can return the candy to the store.
(However, the folks at my house have already figured this out and somehow all those bags get 'magically opened' before Halloween. Guess they finally decided to 'help me out' by opening the bags?)
