Worst ad campaign in history |
|
It's for Toyota's NASCAR Craftsman Trucks. No, they're not selling them, they're letting you know Toyota's in NASCAR now.
The campaign is pretty simple: Supposedly, people wrote letters to Darrell Waltrip, who owns a Toyota-based NCTS team. DW picks one letter per commercial and trashes the writer's lawn with a race truck.
Now, just exactly how is that supposed to convince me I want to root for the Toyota teams?

You see these tracks? Darrell made them. Yep, The Man himself.
Never underestimate the stupidity of the common man.

5. The ad appeals to the masochism of lower class Republicans |
|
In order for poor and middle class "NASCAR Dads" to vote for the GOP they have to hate themselves and enjoy having rich, arrogant assholes ruin their lives. It's the same principle.
