How come they don't say "trick or treat" anymore?

I get so many kids coming to my house that look up at me with dumb looks on their faces and their hands out.

A couple of times I said "did you say trick or treat?" and I felt dumb too when they didn't respond, even then.

Ah well, it's over soon anyway.
